Seattle Children’s Kitchen Hoods Troubleshooting and Repair Project
Develop systematic troubleshooting methodology, drawings, and instructions to validate operation of each sub-system including; electrically actuated gas solenoids, shunt-trip breaker shut off, fire alarm integration, and HVAC system interface.
Coordinate troubleshooting and repair work with multiple departments and vendors in a 24/7/365 Hospital environment so that work was coordinated so as to not impact departments operational schedules.
Work alongside Electrical Contractor to record troubleshooting results and identify failed components and controls wiring connected to decommissioned components. Design phased replacement and connection of control components, including validation of component operation.
Work with kitchen hood certification vendor to recommission system, record proper operation to the Seattle Fire Mashall, and clear any deficiencies related to component and controls failures.
Key Benefits Include:
- Risk Management: Eliminated department impacts by coordinating work off-hours, and scheduling any shut downs outside of department hours of operation.
- Sustainability: Eliminated the need to purchase and install new hood systems.
- Operational Cost Savings: Prolonged the life of existing equipment through troubleshooting and repair.
- Compliance and Reporting: System recertified as a compliant system with certifying agency and SFD
