INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIP EBD
We are committed to being an active player in supporting the success of our industry Owner, Architect, and Contractor partners through active involvement and participation in industry organizations. We believe this engagement is a key pillar in our continuing effort to bring new and talented people into the AEC community, support ongoing individual and organizational learning, and improve the health & safety of our staff and community. Our ongoing commitment includes the following engagement:
We are pleased to be a supporter of the ACE Program in Seattle. Attracting new talent to the building engineering industry is critical to keeping our industry vibrant. The earlier we can engage with young people to make them aware of opportunities in this industry and share the positive impact that the design and construction industries have in our local communities the better. Since 2001, the ACE Mentor Program of Washington has helped 4,000+ students learn about architecture, engineering, and the construction professions. Thanks to the donations from local firms, mentors, parents, and other supporters this program is free to students. During the ACE Mentor Program, teams visit major construction sites, complete projects, and meet bi-monthly at mentor firm offices. Qualifying high school seniors are awarded scholarships and many students remain in touch with industry professionals for continued mentoring with career choices and future employment opportunities.
We are pleased to be an active member of the AHA Hard Hats with a Heart Executive Leadership Team. Hard Hats with Heart is an American Heart Association initiative for highlighting the importance of heart health in the construction industry. More than a fundraiser, this movement brings project owners, general contractors, trade partners, suppliers, unions, health care and business executives together to bring awareness to cardiovascular disease for building healthier communities. Together we educate families on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, work to ensure our communities have the highest quality and most equitable care and find cures for heart disease and stroke. We do this so that more people in our community can experience life’s best moments together.
