Swedish First Hill Campus Building Analytics Program
EBD Services provided electrical systems engineering expertise to understand existing campus electrical power demand and assist in identifying opportunities for mechanical and lighting systems to reduce total electrical energy consumption and peak demand use in support of this initiative led by MacDonald Miller Facility Solutions. Project scope included the enrollment of the First Hill Campus into the Seattle City Light Pay For Performance program. This program included the award of significant rebates which were used for energy conservation projects. Through this process and the customer’s commitment to act, the overall campus Energy Utilization Index EUI was reduced by 11% over the course of 3 years. With analytics serving as the backbone for the energy master plan, the team was developed a hierarchy of projects ranging that included lighting retrofits, expanded utility metering, and large-scale heat recovery focused projects. Projects were prioritized based upon risk, energy impact, resiliency, and correlation to planned end-of-life equipment replacement.
