Swedish First Hill Campus SCL Radial Feeder Replacement Project
Due to the failure of one existing Seattle City Light service feeder normal power was interrupted to the East Tower main service, EBD Services provided initial emergency response services to coordinate with Seattle City Light for the restoration of normal power to the East Tower utilizing an option feeder.
In support of an extended outage required by Seattle City Light to safely repair the utility feeder system, EBD Services developed a comprehensive temporary power design solution that maintained dual sources of power to the East Tower. This solution allowed the East Tower to maintain continuity of 24×7 hospital operations in a safe manner while SCL utility crews completed needed feeder replacements. Scope of services included development of step-by-step processes to transition to temporary power system configuration and back to normal state following the completion of utility repairs.
EBD Services worked closely with Swedish Facilities and Seattle City Light representatives to develop a work plan for repair of the damaged SCL feeder. This included development of a detailed execution plan which maintained dual sources of power to all patient care areas without interruption while critical utility infrastructure repairs were completed.
